We have teamed up with Dr. Anderson at Central Ohio Primary Care on a research study for a new investigational medication for high triglycerides.
WHAT ARE TRIGLYCERIDES?
Triglycerides are the main component of fat (lipid) found in humans. When food is consumed, the body converts any unused calories into triglycerides. The triglycerides are stored in fat (adipose) cells and are later released by hormones to be used for energy between meals. The condition of hypertriglyceridemia (elevated triglycerides) is a common disorder, often caused or exacerbated by diabetes mellitus, obesity, and sedentary habits.
